Canada is celebrating its 150th anniversary of Confederation this year and there are many events planned across the country. To help get the festivities started, Ottawa is having a two-day block party, Glowfair 2017, in June.
The capital of Canada has plenty to offer visitors, especially this birthday year, and Glowfair is no exception. Glowfair is in its fourth year and is a celebration of music, light, art, and community.
Held this year on June 16-17, the super-sized party takes place along 10 blocks of Ottawa’s popular Bank Street. The area comes alive with vibrant decorations, great music, and visual artistry.
During the two-day festival, there will be close to 75 performers and attractions and more than 50,000 people are expected to attend.

Glowfair for Kids
Glowfair offers plenty of things to see and do for all ages. During the day, there will be activities for kids like the Interactive Stations put on by the Museum of Science and Technology. Kids can get a bit of Glowfair magic at the Colorful Chameleon Face Paint station and a balloon souvenir at the World’s Greatest Balloons station.
Glowfair for Adults
For those who can stay up later, there will be a breathtaking aerial show both evenings. If you want to get your stretch on, GlowYoga will be offered both evenings. A talented line-up of musicians and DJs will perform on two music stages.
Partygoers can wrap up the festivities by grabbing headphones and silently dancing to DJ beats during the popular (and possibly, mind-blowing?) Silent Disco.
